According to an article in the 2010 winter issue of the National Council on Strength and Fitness News, it is estimated that 31 million Americans are experiencing some level of lower back pain at any time. The calculated yearly cost to our health-care system to relieve the pain is estimated at $50 million.
The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation states that, “An estimated 80 percent of all Americans will suffer from back pain at some point in their lives.” Back pain also comes in at the number two spot for the leading cause of work absenteeism.
